Aftercare Advice
Helping you get the most from your treatment
After a clinic treatment
Acupuncture, ear acuouncture, fire cupping, gua sha
After your personalised treatment in clinic, it's helpful to give yourself a little time and space to rest. This allows your body to absorb the shifts from the session and supports the natural flow of Qi. If you can, avoid rushing into anything too stimulating or demanding straight afterwards.
Try to stay warm and drink plenty of water or herbal tea. Light, nourishing food is best, and it’s a good idea to avoid alcohol, caffeine and heavy meals for a few hours.
You may feel relaxed, sleepy, energised or more emotionally open. These are all normal responses as your system finds a new balance.
Each session is tailored to you, so I will give specific aftercare suggestions during your appointment. This might include acupressure points to use at home, lifestyle recommendations or supportive rituals to continue your healing journey.
If you have any questions or feel unsure about how you're responding to treatment, you're always welcome to get in touch.

After a festival treatment
How to made the most from your treatment and reintegrate to the festival
Rest and nourish yourself
Try to give yourself a little quiet time after your session. Let your body settle and your energy flow gently rebalance. Even in the buzz of a festival, just sitting under a tree or having a slow walk can help your system fully absorb the benefits.
Drink warm fluids
Keep hydrated with warm or room temperature water or herbal teas. Avoid ice-cold drinks if you can, as they can disrupt the flow of Qi through your Channels.
Eat light, nourishing food
If you’re hungry, choose something simple and grounding. Your digestion is part of your energetic system, so feeding yourself well helps support the whole treatment.
Avoid overexertion
If possible, go easy on stimulants like caffeine or alcohol today, and avoid very intense activity straight after your session. Let your energy settle before diving into anything too yang.
Notice how you feel
Some people feel an immediate lift or clarity after treatment. Others feel a little sleepy or emotional as things shift. All of this is perfectly normal — just observe what arises and be kind to yourself. If anything feels concerning, you are welcome to get in touch.
Gentle self-connection
You may like to tune in over the next day or two, noticing changes in your sleep, mood, energy or physical symptoms. This is all part of your body’s healing intelligence at work.
Festival Reintegration
Take your time easing back into the festival, let the calm from your treatment move with you, and choose the next thing that feels kind to your body and spirit.
After a evening, day or weekend retreat
Making the most from your retreat
Following one of our seasonal evening, day or weekend retreats, your body and spirit may feel more spacious, clear or tender. The combination of healing techniques can create deep energetic shifts that continue to unfold over the days that follow. It’s best to move gently through the days after if you can, with nourishing food, plenty of water, and some quiet time to reflect or rest. You may like to spend time in nature, journal any insights or simply enjoy the feeling of being more connected to yourself. I’ll offer personalised aftercare at the end of each retreat to support your individual needs, but above all, trust your body’s wisdom and move slowly as you reintegrate.
